This year at the Oscars anything but fabulous wasn’t an option. We now understand why it’s the most anticipated night for fashion and beauty. We just can’t help but swoon over all these gorgeous looks. With so much beauty in one place, it takes a moment to soak it all in. From natural to old Hollywood Glamour, there wasn’t a look that didn’t take our breath away! And everything bridal was fashionable at the Oscars. It just made us love it that much more. Hair Comes the Bride has always been a “gay friendly” company. It feels weird to even call ourselves that because to me, it is a complete non-issue. We did our first same sex commitment ceremony over 14 years ago and I am thrilled that we are now able to do same sex weddings (for our New York couples anyways). I look forward to the day in which it is a non-issue for everyone and all gay couples will have the right to marry in whatever state they live. So, with that being said, when we recently did a photo shoot for popular same sex wedding website www.EquallyWed.com I was suprised by my initial fear in posting the pics on our site and here on our blog. I guess my fear was in offending potential clients who may be against gay marriage. But, I am proud to say that my fear was short lived when I quickly came to my senses and realized that those are exactly the type of clients who we don’t really care to work with anyways. I have such strong feelings about this issue and I kept thinking of the saying, “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.” Well, I am standing for equality! Love is love and Hair Comes the Bride is proud to “come out” in support of gay marriage!

The SAG awards had a lot to live up to after the Golden Globes! The event showcased natural and elegant looks which define bridal beauty. To be honest this is our favorite time of year especially if you love weddings. There are so many new styles and looks for every type of bride. Whether you want to look edgy on your wedding day or if you’re more traditional there is a look for you! These are the celebs that inspired us…who inspired you?
Nude and pale pinks dominated the SAG awards which are the perfect match for our traditional/romantic bride…
